Oh, that is gorgeous!

Freshly done today!
In 2005 my Nan passed away, I was in grade 5 at the time. It broke my heart, I had a really hard time dealing with it… I would wake up at night in crying fits and have to sleep with one or both of my parents for quite a while. Then in May 2006, a gorgeous white dove started showing up in my backyard. Me and my mom believe in reincarnation, so instantly when we saw the beauty of the dove we thought “that has to be Nanny coming to check on us”. I named her Angel, because my Nan was an angel on earth and continues to be in Heaven. As each day went by the belief that this dove was my Nan grew stronger, she came each day without fail and would eat from a dish at my feet. Then in June my parents, brother and I went on a trip to Florida. When we came home, my other Grandparents show us a picture of their backyard, the same beautiful white dove had begun coming to their house when we left. After we were home a few days we noticed Angel had stopped coming to the house. To this day we believe it was my Nan making sure we were all alright. Now, I will forever have an angel on my shoulder watching over me. <3

I got this tattoo in memory of a seahorse I named Sea Biscuit that I released my senior year of high school. I was in a marine biology class that caught her from an estuary, and brought her back to our tank in the classroom. Unfortunately the tank was overcrowded with fast-swimming fish that ate all the food before she could, a crab that kept trying to eat her, and coral that cut her skin repeatedly. Sea Biscuit’s health started declining and as I researched proper care for seahorses, I learned she was in great danger and was suffering a great deal. I presented this to the class and the school but was bullied over it mercilessly. I kept at it though, and finally my teacher agreed to let me take her back to the estuary because he wasn’t going to bother to come back to take care of her (or the others in the tank) over winter break. After school I rushed to Sandy Hook and stood holding her container in the 45 degree water for about an hour until she properly adjusted to the temperature, and released her. Every time I look at my tattoo I remember her, what she taught me, and how I hope she had/has a happy life where she always belonged.![]()
Lovely.
